Our History
Original Jandy’s and multiple locations…
Jandy’s Frozen Yogurt originally opened as a storefront in Rome, GA in 2010 and delighted customers’ tastebuds for a decade, winning “Best of Rome” for multiple years. Jandy’s eventually expanded operations with two more franchises in Calhoun and Cartersville. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the company transitioned the storefront operations to our groundbreaking mobile unit.
We’re still in multiple locations, it just might be your work, school, or church next!
Our Yogurt
Certifiably Good
Certified by the National Yogurt Association, our frozen yogurt is lower in acidity levels and has a sweeter taste.
Yogurt is produced when dairy products are cultured (fermented) with bacterial cultures Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus. This process results in the production of acid and high levels of live and active cultures. Our frozen yogurts contain over 100 million live and active cultures per gram and have been formulated to result in lower acidity levels and a sweeter taste.
Health Benefits
Our frozen yogurts contain other probiotic cultures in addition to the characterizing cultures. Probiotics are living microorganisms that, upon ingestion in sufficient numbers, provide health benefits beyond normal nutrition. Our yogurts include the strains of Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus lactis.
Some of the beneficial effects of frozen yogurt are:
- increased digestibility of dairy products for those with lactose intolerance
- overall improvement of digestive function
- stimulation of immune function
There is also additional evidence to support a much wider range of benefits from the consumption of live and active cultures with levels greater than 100 million per gram. Additional health benefits:
- Maintenance of intestinal microbial populations when taking antibiotics.
- Prevention and treatment of diarrhea.
- Prevention and treatment of infections of the urinary tract or female genital tract (i.e., yeast infections).
- Treatment of irritable bowel syndrome.
- Reduction in the risk of developing or reocurring bladder and colon cancers.
All Frozen Yogurts Are Not The Same
Our frozen yogurts carry The Live and Active Cultures (LAC) Seal which is a voluntary program provided through the National Yogurt Association. This means that our yogurt contains high levels of the cultures that provide yogurt’s health attributes. Our yogurts are certified by the National Yogurt Association to use this seal.
